Ottawa Senators owner Michael Andlauer has struck a deal to bring the PWHL’s Ottawa Charge into Canadian Tire Centre for the 2026 season.
The Ottawa Charge will continue to call Ottawa home after finalizing an agreement to play all home games at the Senators’ arena next year. Sources told The Associated Press the deal is done and the team will avoid relocation. The Charge, which joined the PWHL in 2024, now has a permanent downtown venue after months of uncertainty.
The Senators benefit from a full building every game night with a second tenant drawing fans to Canadian Tire Centre. Ottawa’s sixth-place finish in the Eastern Conference — a 44-27 record on a W1 streak — keeps playoff hopes alive. Andlauer gains a partner that shares the rink and the fan base, boosting game-day energy. The Charge’s arrival also gives local families a top-tier women’s hockey option without leaving town.
The Charge will finalize schedules and ticket plans over the next two months. Ottawa’s next home slate opens on October 11 against Toronto. The Senators, meanwhile, keep their focus on climbing the standings after a strong finish last season. Both teams now share the same ice and the same mission: sell out Canadian Tire Centre.
